Our Professional Team…

Our team of eye care professionals enjoy contributing to our patients’ quality of life. Healthy eyes, good vision!

Carolyn Cutre, O.D.

“Optometry has given me the opportunity to enhance the way people see their world… the way they perform… the way they learn. I feel honored to employ a team of great people who share my enthusiasm for vision. In my free time I enjoy playing with my two “kids”…”

Dr. Cutre is a graduate of Liverpool High School. She studied Biomedical Engineering at Syracuse University where she earned a Bachelor of Science. She went on to complete her doctorate education at the New England College of Optometry. She founded Cicero Family Eye Care in 2004. Along her career path she has volunteered eye care services for the Special Olympics, Central New York elementary school screenings, and an eye care mission to provide care to a community in Merida, Mexico. She also enjoys being a principle investigator for contact lens clinical studies.

Julianne Shelton, O.D.

Dr. Shelton is a Central New York native, graduating from Central Square’s Paul V. Moore High School. She studied Biochemistry at LeMoyne College where she graduated Cum Laude, acted as the Student Government Vice President, and played on the women’s volleyball and golf teams. She continued her education in Boston, MA at the New England College of Optometry, completing rotations in Boston, MA, Miami, FL, Manchester, NH, and Westchester, NY. While in optometry college she was the president of the Student Government and played an active role in the Private Practice Club and Spanish Club. In addition, Dr. Shelton traveled to Peru on a medical mission trip to¬†help provide eye care to remote populations. Her optometric interests include contact lenses, specialty contact lenses, and ocular disease, which helped her to achieve the Alcon Contact Lens Case Report Award in 2018. In her free time Dr. Shelton likes to play golf, volleyball, and spend time with her friends and family.

I joined the Cicero Family Eye Care team in 2017. My 25 years of experience in payroll and human resources has given me the opportunity to become the office manager for a great group of people, who I like to call my “work family.” I am married and have two sons, one at C-NS High School and one at SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music. I love my 3 cats and my dog. I am an avid Disney and Harry Potter fan. In the summer I love boating, camping, and vacationing in the Outer Banks.

I love helping patients SEE, LOOK, and FEEL great! I am a NYS licensed optician at Cicero Family Eye Care. I joined Dr. Cutre’s team as her optometric technician in 2012, then obtained my optician license in 2015. I enjoy having the freedom to choose the best frame and lens technologies for each patient’s unique needs. It makes me happy to see our patients smile when they leave with their new specs! Come visit… You will often see me wearing one of my many eyeglass frames in my favorite color, PURPLE!

Cicero Family Eye Care has been my home since 2017. I have been a NYS licensed optician since 2016. My optical career began in 2006 working closely with another local, well-respected optometrist, my father, the late Dr. Gary Marrone. I have a passion for unique frames and the high-tech precision of lens fabrication. I take pride in delivering top-notch product to our patients. Outside of work I spend time with my son and my fiance visiting new places. I’m an avid Universal Studios fan where my favorite ride is “The Mummy!” You will often hear me singing while I work as I love music and playing guitar. Also, I am obsessed with sneakers, love a new pair of kicks!

I found the world of optometry in 2014 and moved to Cicero Family Eye Care in 2017. I obtained my Paraoptometric Certification (CPO) while working as Dr. Cutre’s optometric technician, and I look forward to continued learning and furthering my skills to assist the care of our patients. While I am hard-working, my spirit animal is a sloth… I love to relax and do nothing! I am always up for a food adventure though. I enjoy baking, cake decorating, crafting, and giving puffs of air into patients’ eyes! Watch out!

I joined the Cicero Family Eye Care team in 2019. I am involved with all aspects of patient care, including patient registration, performing vision tests on patients prior to their exams, and assisting with frame and lens recommendations. I started working in the eye care field in 2014 as an optical lab technician and apprentice optician, and I’ve enjoyed learning about eye health and vision over the past 5 years. When I’m not at work I love to go on adventures and take photographs of whatever “catches my eye” along the way!
